However, living with a view is an entirely different kettle of fish. When you live in the Algarve it’s not easy to find a property without a stunning view, unless you live in the centre of a town somewhere, and even then you are liable to get a fabulous view if you’re in an apartment.
So, I thought I’d have a look at some of these properties with views and of course the first property I looked at was set in 22,200m2 of beautiful countryside in Monchique. The agent had excelled herself with photos of the views but had also taken some really good photographs of the house too, so I knew what it was about.
The house itself has a covered area of 203m2, so it’s spacious and at €295,000, it’s not expensive. With four bedrooms, two bathrooms as well as the living and dining areas with a kitchen/diner too it’s a good buy. Naturally, with that much acreage there’s an orchard and the views are just spectacular.
Well, of course you’re going to get stunning views in the mountains aren’t you? So I thought, how about looking around closer to the coast, Lagos for instance. I immediately found another property with wonderful views and plenty of pictures of the house too.
It’s situated in Almádena and has four bedrooms and four bathrooms and lots more besides and came with a price tag of €465,000, which has been reduced to €399,000. So, not only are you close to the sea you also have beautiful views over the surrounding countryside.
What kind of views might you get if you find a fine house, close to the sea and also close to the golf courses? This lovely house in Carvoeiro hit all those buttons as well as having fabulous sea views from the first floor.
Priced at €480,000 it’s got three bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as a fully fitted kitchen, and a split level living room with a wood burning stove. It’ll make a comfy home or could well bring in some extra cash with rentals.
Going a little inland and close to the thriving village of Santa Barbara de Nexe is this lovely, south facing, detached villa that has marvelous views over the countryside to the sea in the distance. It’s a large two storey house with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen and a living/dining room with fireplace.
Best of all, the price has been reduced to €499,000. A great location because Santa Barbara has so many small towns surrounding it, you never have far to go to get to anywhere!
For my next stop on my tour of ‘villas with a view’ I visited the county of Tavira and went into the Eiras hills, where peace and quiet reign and the views are glorious. There, in 16,900m2 of land sits this lovely house and gardens for €395,000.
The views from this well appointed villa stretch down through the countryside to the town of Tavira itself. With a covered area of 300m2, the house is spacious, has three bedrooms with fitted wardrobes and three bathrooms. There are also shutters and double glazed windows as well as a wood burning stove. A comfortable home with lovely gardens and there’s plenty more land to accommodate horses too!
No property list in the Algarve would be complete without a nice beach view, and this lovely townhouse in Vale De Lobo fits the bill. At a mere €995,000 you can be in the heart of the Golden Triangle and right on top of the beach!
A three bedroomed townhouse with private terraces, it has a total of 227m2 covered area so is very spacious. The property includes a garage, fully fitted kitchen with appliances, and excellent finish throughout. When you live here you are within walking distance of the Vale de Lobo shops, restaurants and amenities as well as of course, the beach.
So having covered the Algarve with this little tour, I found that there are thousands of properties with a view!
