We’ve had a good run of competitions over the past year.
Pam who works for Sovereign in Lagoa was a Meravista winner in June last year, when she scooped a prize of wine and cash by entering one of our fun competitions at the Algarve International Fair. Marian of Silves was the second lucky winner of wine at the Fair. Deborah of Faro won €100 in our Algarve Chimney Photography Competition in September and Nick of Silves, our BLiP winner in October, bagged himself a mega basket of Portuguese fine wine.
Meravista Algarve Expat Survey prize draw
The wine was flowing over Christmas and New Year for the lucky winners of our survey draw.
Following an extended period, our survey closed at the end of November. The three winners were drawn at random from survey participants who opted to be included in our prize draw.
Winners Bobby Jacobs from São Bras de Alportel near Faro, Hester Terblanche from Albufeira and Gregor Stewart-Smythe from Praia da Luz, Lagos received the good news from Meravista on 17th December and, in true Santa Claus style, we personally delivered their prizes just in time for Christmas.
Gregor sent us a great picture of himself (above) with his prize at his lovely home in Praia da Luz. Hester posted her thanks and a photograph (right) on Meravista’s Facebook page and Bobby sent us a snap (left) of her wine enjoying some New Year Algarve sunshine on her terrace. She did admit that her prize had been seriously depleted over the Christmas holiday!

It was great to end 2013 giving out prizes and even better to celebrate the New Year with yet another Meravista winner.
We ran a competition in The Algarve Resident’s bumper Christmas edition. Entrants were tasked with finding and counting the number of Christmas angels hidden in our Algarve property picture. The competition closed on 5th January and the first correct entry drawn came from Richard Avon Langley Thurman (left) of Armaçao de Pera who won a cash prize of €100 – a welcome bonus after the big Christmas spend!
The correct number of angels was twelve, for the twelve days of Christmas.
