Meravista proved to be very popular at the International Algarve Fair at Lagoalast weekend. The two-day event celebrated a bumper turnout, attracting people from across the Algarve as well as visitors from all over the world.
Cookies, Kids and Cool Gigs
Everyone we met loved the Meravista stand with our American Toll House cookies and brownie cupcakes. Kids were queuing up for Meravista’s balloons, and Michele wowed the crowds with her guitar playing and singing. Meravista had fun with people from around the world, from Brits, Finns and Irish, to Americans and Canadians back to Europe with Dutch and Germans to name but a few.
Happy Doggies
Of course the Algarve Dog Show was a smash hit again and, with categories like ‘Waggiest Tail” and ‘Naughtiest Scamp’ all doggies had a chance to compete, including the ‘posh pedigrees’. Our four legged friends had such a good time in the spotlight that the gorgeous Mabel, after placing first in ‘Best Mixed Breed’, celebrated by jumping into the demonstration Jacuzzi at the stand next to the dog show.
We think she was such a crowd pleaser the Jacuzzi people might want to hire her next year to model their models!
Exploring Meravista.com
We provided computers and invited surfers to explore the site and its features, fascinating visitors with the innovative concept of Meravista.com. We received positive feedback about the map-based search technology and the option to compare up to five properties side by side on one screen.
All who participated agreed that Meravista was not only the best property website they had ever come across but was the easiest to navigate. The ‘Young Set’ were impressed with the technology and the ‘Golden Oldies’ were delighted with their prowess.
Winners of Wine and Cash
Meravista hosted two competitions: The ‘Property Hunt’ and the ‘Guess the Goodies in the Jar’ both proved very popular with Fair goers and we had hundreds of entries. Check our next blog for details of the correct answers, and the lucky winners of cases of wine, and one lucky winner of €100!
The Auction
This proved to be a big hit on Sunday afternoon with quite a crowd bidding on everything from a leather cleaning kit to a radio interview, and much more. The Meravista Doggy Hamper filled all kinds of doggy goodies was happily re-donated to SOS Algarve. A good doggy day at the fair!
Rentals
There were many enquiries for long term, year-round rentals by both landlords and would be renters. Long term rental properties are hard to find in this region, so check back often to Meravista: we had many promises of additional rental properties being added to the site.
Eating and Drinking
The food court did a roaring trade and we were very grateful to the All Saints team who opened up very early each morning, providing delicious bacon butties as we toiled in the sun to set up our stand. Well placed around the Arena with non-stop entertainment happening all day long, the restaurants were packed with people enjoying the huge choice of food and drinks available and the never-ending variety show.
It’s more than just property!
Those who weren’t in the market for selling or buying property at the present time were amazed at the wealth of information presented by Meravista in the ‘Algarve Information’ and ‘Blog’ pages. With information about towns and counties, things to do, activities for all ages, and of course upcoming events and tons of useful local info, there is no shortage for both residents and tourists alike.
A huge thank you to organisers (Sonia and Team) and the Portugal News – the 8th International Algarve Fairwas well-planned, well-organised and well-executed. Good job everyone!
