On the 3rd February in Quinta do Lago, the Conrad Hotel is presenting the official launch of Sustainable Homes Algarve, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to energy efficiency in buildings, interiors and landscapes.
The launch will take place between 10.30 and 11.30am and you can learn all about reducing the cost of running your home.

Also on the 3rd February, The Holiday Inn, Armação de Pêra, is hosting “Mexican Train Dominoes”. This is one of the most popular domino games played in the world today. Each player plays a chain of dominoes called a train; they may also play on the common chain called the Mexican Train. The player with the lowest score at the end of the round wins. There are many incidents along the way that block the trains and make for an exciting challenge. The lowest overall score wins a prize.
This fun game will take place in the hotel bar at 3pm and a donation of €5 will be asked of each player in aid of the Mobile Breast Screening Unit, Associação Onológicado Algarve.

On the 10th February, 1º Annual Professional Musicians' Showcase will be held at the Holiday Inn Algarve.

14th February - Valentine’s Day

If you like men (and women) in uniform, join the Algarve’s fundraising group FLIC (Fund Raising for Local Identified Causes) on 14th February at the Bombeiros’ Valentine’s Ball in São Bartolomeu de Messines, for a night of music, dancing and, hopefully, romance!
The Ball is taking place at the Bombeiros (firefighting department) in Messines; doors open at 7.30pm. You’ll be able to buy food from the firefighters, and the local GNR officers will be there to serve you at the bar! Entrance is just €3 per person, with all proceeds going to the Bombeiros.

São Bartolomeu de Messines is hosting the annual Mountain Bike Ride of Voluntary Fire Brigades,supported by the Mayor of Silves, on Sunday 23rd February. Starting at 9am you can take part in a 20, 40 or 60 kilometre bike ride and join other riders for lunch if you wish. The deadline for entries is the 18th February and the cost is €10 without lunch or €15 including lunch.
