The speed with which the internet has grown over the past 20 years has had a revolutionary impact on culture and commerce, and the property market is no exception. Traipsing around local estate agent offices and thumbing through the property pages of the local weekly press in the search of a new home are slowly becoming history, as a new age of property hunters boot up and start surfing. Statistics from the UK show that approximately 80% of all property searches begin online. And, for those searching for property abroad, the internet is clearly the most logical first port of call.
Survey indicates a growing demand for reliable online information
Results of a recent survey of the Algarve property market issued by ILM Group revealed that leading Algarve estate agents remained positive about the future of the market. 92% reported higher confidence levels in 2013 and a growing trend to market stabilisation.
The welcome return of the British buyers, increased interest from other nationalities and new emerging markets including Russia and China, contributed to the positive mood. In addition, these findings clearly indicate the need for reliable online information on property for sale in the Algarve. If property hunters can’t find the property they want, they can’t buy it.
Filipe Cavaco of Imocavaco Properties in São Bras is one of many Algarve real estate agents listing property on Meravista. Filipe believes that the site is helping buyers to find property for sale online: “Meravista has given Algarve agents a fresh and effective way to promote their property portfolios. Dedicated to Algarve property, Meravista’s map-based search is very visual and easy for property hunters to use. Property details can easily be found simply by clicking a property located on the map.”
