Meravista is now in the lucrative business of dogs. As director and king of this company I have made this a new corporate function. Why, you may ask? Well, let’s look at the basics.
First, even though we are a property portal, we inexplicably have more articles on dogs than we do about property. For instance:
So our marketing is already heavily geared towards the pet industry.
The second and more important reason: “Sun’s Dragon” (aka Mum) our prolific content writer and her pal “Debbie” (aka Debbie). These two are actually shameless dog traffickers, that keep the palatial hilltop Meravista headquarters filled with salvaged dogs.
To understand this situation you need to first read Mum’s latest tearjerker: Six Dogs One Tale. After you’ve cried yourself stupid Mum finishes you off with this brave statement:
"Do either Debbie or I regret taking on those little waifs? No!
Do either of us regret breaking my “rules”? No!
Are we proud of our achievement? YES!
Would we do it again? YES!"
Do you know why she can make this brave statement? Because she knows that Meravista management are suckers for dogs and will take them in thus relieving her of the lifelong burden of ownership. Left unsaid is that Mum and Debbie are on constant patrol for new dogs to foist on us. And true to her brave statement…she’s done it again!
I introduce to you “Poppy”. He was found in a ditch a couple of weeks ago with his left eyeball hanging out. The two of them rushed him to a charitable veterinarian in Almancil (Dr. Antonio Albuquerque tel: 289 399 910) who performed the necessary surgery. With both their houses already full of boisterous, rescued animals and dogs, the calm hospice of Meravista headquarters was the right place for Mum and Debbie to take him for recovery.
So this sweet, quiet one-eyed dog has recovered (he has never made a sound so far, not even when his stitches were removed) and is now part of the family: happy and playing with dogs and cats alike. We really cannot keep him because we already have four dogs and two cats (see a few of them below). So I figured I would sell him. A new way to monetize the website, as you can imagine. He’s appraised at about one and half million Euros because he is so gentle.
But then here we go again with the whole love and attachment routine. Mum’s final master stroke. So the doggie is now off the market as soon he was on it. We already love him too much and will find a way to manage.
However, since Mum and Debbie are going to keep us perpetually supplied in fresh Algarvean dogs, we figure it’s time to announce our new marketing plan. Please continue to monitor our site and Facebook for used dog listings or very, very used Mum listings.
